Garden of Joy

Permaculture project in Everbeek, Belgium

Garden of Joy is a non-profit project meant to inspire and motivate people from around the world to grow closer to nature and to raise awareness about a more sustainable lifestyle.

Inspired by permaculture principles we grow organic fruits, vegetables and herbs on a small scale and produce different artisan products such as natural soap, fruit rolls, herbal syrups and tea. We try to keep things simple and natural and mainly use ingredients that we can grow ourselves or obtain locally.

We also aim to provide educational and cultural events as soon as we manage to fully set up our farm in a productive and practical way. Till now, we managed to evolve at this point by donations, sales and a supportive community of enthusiastic volunteers.

In order to become self-sufficient, we plan to share and distribute our products through local shops, markets and food teams. Therefore we have set up a professional production room, fully equipped and prepared to meet the high standards of European regulations.

In doing so, we can focus on what really matters: creating the change we would like to see in the world around us.

We have been supported by a crowdfunding to maintain and further develop this project:
    • the equipment of a production room,
    • the building of a herb drying room, empowered by alternative energy
